It's really hot in Panama. Period.
We have the dry and rainy seasons, but for me, we only have the very rainy and the less rainy seasons. So, a perfect day is cloudy. Not sunny, not raining, just cloudy.
The sky is gray, threatening a big downpour; it's cool and not humid, but you know it's not going to rain, or at least not anytime soon. This weather is perfect for getting lost in the streets of the Casco Antiguo, walking calmly, seeing the picturesque shops, eating a "raspado" (shaved ice) in Independence Square, and gazing at the Bridge of the Americas in the distance.

It's one of those days when you can do everything because it's not too hot. Now, it's not cold, but it's cool, and that's enough to go out and adventure.
It's worth exploring the squares, sitting down, and breathing in the fresh air. One of my favorites is Plaza Herrera; it's nothing extraordinary, yet at the same time, it has everything. It's full of so much history and surrounded by so many scenes that simply demand admiration.
If you have more time and feel more adventurous, it's also a good day to go to Summit Park and enjoy Panama's flora and fauna all in one place.

Continuing with our inexpensive travel destinations, here's a list where you'll be glad for cloudy days:
Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA: While New Mexico is known for its sunshine, Albuquerque offers plenty of budget-friendly activities that are great on cloudy days. You can explore Old Town Albuquerque's historic buildings and shops, visit the UNM Art Museum, or take a scenic drive on Historic Route 66. The city also has several free National Park Service sites, like Petroglyph National Monument, which can be explored even without direct sun.
Indianapolis, Indiana, USA: This often-overlooked city has a surprising amount to offer, and many attractions are well-suited for less-than-sunny weather. You can explore urban trails, visit the free Stutz Car Museum, or enjoy the daily light show at Monument Circle. Many of the city's museums are also very affordable, especially with an Indy Attraction Pass.
